The unnecessary Fail of TASCOM

« on: July 28, 2010, 11:51:04 AM »

I'm doing some work on a JG M4, I went to replace the bucking with a Systema, so i pulled out the barrel/ hop-up assembly, it is stuck on there REALLY good. I tried spraying silicon oil, that didn't work.
So i thought i would make sure i wasn't missing something, when removing the hop-up, you only need to remove the small 'c'-shaped piece towards the front correct? I've never worked on an m4 hop-up.

That's correct. However, it sounds like you might be one of the lucky guys that had your hop-up unit stuck to the inner barrel. Some people have had luck in dipping the unit in boiling water to loosen the adhesive, but others have found they have to break the hop-up unit to get it off the barrel. Best of luck to you!
